Are you looking to add fun and unique ideas to your December wedding?
Ok I know it sounds hard to start picturing your December wedding in July, but I think I might have the right inspiration for you! Are you looking to add fun and unique ideas to your December wedding? Well then look no further. I shot Naomi and Alan’s wedding back in December at the Prince of Wales Hotel Niagara on the Lake. From start to finish, their big day was as unique and special as these two.
Naomi and Alan met while they were studying abroad in Innsbruck in Austria. They were in the same German class. All the exchange students hung out together, however Naomi and Alan quickly found their favourites. Flash forward with these adorable love birds and the story continues to get cuter. They went on a walking holiday in Connemara, Galway (west coast of Ireland). While walking the Irish coastline they happened upon Diamond Hill (little foreshadowing here). Once they reached the top, Alan asked Naomi to marry him. She of course said yes and they went to Galway city to find a ring in one of the many antique shops there. Ironically, Naomi ended up with sapphire ring despite her Diamond Hill proposal.
From their signature gin cocktail that they created during their unity ceremony, to their board game alternative to dancing, Naomi and Alan really put their own fun stamp on this wedding. Alan and his groomsmen even took the opportunity to have themselves a snowball fight. I love witnessing a couple that is happy, relaxed, and totally themselves on their wedding day. They also did a great job with the vintage details. You really felt like you were at a 1940’s wedding in Great Britain. From tweed vests, to lace dress, the old Prince of Wales Hotel was a scene from a movie that day.
Are you looking for inspiration for your December wedding?
Well, take Naomi and Alan as a great example how to accomplish this dream. These two just took their favourite shared interests and thought of creative ways to bring it into their special day. Their love of making cocktails together made the perfect moment during their unity ceremony. The board games instead of dancing was a cute way to make sure they spent their night doing what they love. So my advice is really take stock of what you and your partner love to do together. Think of all your passions your share. Then the fun part; think of ways to turn wedding traditions into your own traditions. If you think about it, shouldn’t your wedding day be your “perfect Saturday night”? If you want more inspiration for fun and unique wedding ideas click here.
