Whistle Bear wedding :: Andrea + Jon
It’s not often I get to capture a late afternoon ceremony, with warm sun peaking through the clouds at just the *right* moment – that’s exactly what happened for Andrea and Jon’s Whistle Bear wedding. The weather was calling for a chance of showers throughout the day. Fortunately, the sun came out for their outdoor ceremony and we had the most beautiful light!
Andrea and I met in University after working on several art projects into the wee hours of morning. We could usually be found taking a break on MSN, checking to see if our respective boyfriends (and future husbands) were online. This was usually followed by some emoticon heart sending and smile faces. Fast forward 10 years later – it was amazing to see these two tie the knot after many years together.
With a newly renovated clubhouse, an outdoor fire pit for roasting marshmallows, lush golf course, rolling hills, mixed forest and two waterfalls – this is a venue where modern meets rustic. Whistle Bear has many unique photo locations including an abandoned house in the forest. A Whistle Bear wedding wouldn’t be complete without a ride in a golf cart. One of my favourite parts of the day was speeding down winding dirt roads, while traveling between photo locations.
The reception was filled with stunning rustic details. Tables were marked with wooden stumps, painted with an animal silhouette. Each one hand made by the bride and groom. “Thanks for Bee’in here” honey pot jars were given to guests as favours, and included honey from a local farm. After dinner and speeches, the dance floor and outdoor fire pit opened while we snuck off for late night water fall photos.
Congratulations on a beautiful wedding and thank you for inviting me to capture it!
