Urban Toronto Engagement Shoot :: Joanna + Mira
After Joanna and Mira’s engagement session was featured on the Wedding Co, today I’m excited to share the full session and some of my favourite photos.
I first met Joanna and Mira last summer at Tracey and Matt’s Hamilton wedding. Joanna and Mira were part of Tracey’s converse wearing bridal party. When Joanna contacted me earlier this year to say they were now engaged – I was thrilled! Joanna is also a talented photographer herself, and I was honoured they asked me to capture their engagement and wedding photos.
Joanna proposed to Mira while on a flight to New York. Having a long distance relationship the last few years and traveling many places together -what better place for a proposal? I asked Joanna and Mira to bring a few mementos to the session to better tell their story. They brought a whole box full of ticket stubs, boarding passes, receipts and maps. It was easy to see they are fun and adventurous couple who love to travel and explore together. The subway map of New York made for the perfect backdrop for a photo of their rings.
For the session we visited three iconic locations in Toronto, highlighting historic architecture and graffiti art. We started in the Distillery District visiting the Love Locks. Then we headed over to Queen Street West and Graffiti Alley to capture the bold and vibrant street art. Finally we finished in Liberty Village with the beautiful brickwork and ivy at the Carpet Factory.
Looking forward to capturing your celebrations in 2017!
