Durham region wedding :: Amanda + Jeff
There is something really special about being surrounded by 20 of your closest family members and friends. That’s exactly what Amanda and Jeff did for their Durham region wedding this summer.
Amanda and Jeff’s wedding had a fun, chic and vintage feel to it. Their ceremony and reception took place at 1847 Wine and Beer Bistro , a restaurant and heritage building located in downtown Brooklin. Built in 1847, the restaurant remains at its original location today. 1847 Wine & Beer bistro provides a cozy and relaxed atmosphere for couples planning a Durham region wedding (which I would love to photograph again!)
Amanda wore her mom’s wedding dress which was altered in a vintage style by Pom Penner. I think this is such a great way to incorporate tradition, family and something old into a wedding. Jeff looked sharp in a navy Tommy Hilfiger suit.
Following a post ceremony champagne toast, we explored downtown Brooklin for photos. We came across a mural that depicted two people lifting up a heart. I don’t think we could have found more appropriate art for a wedding day. The graphic outlines and vibrant heart made for the perfect backdrop.
Each of the guests received a succulent plant as a wedding favor. White and gold frames filled with photos of loved ones were set up by the window. One of the photos included her parents’ wedding photo, and her mom in her dress. It was neat to see the history of the dress and how it was transformed for Amanda.
Congratulations Amanda + Jeff! Thank you for inviting me to capture your intimate summer wedding!
